PFLAG is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. With over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters crossing multiple generations of families in major urban centers, small cities, and rural areas across America, PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed.
Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.
Presently consisting of 16 barristers including 1 Queen’s Counsel and 1 door tenant, Central Chambers operates from a premises in the centre of Manchester. It provides a highly qualified expert service. We specialize in serving the disadvantaged and the underprivileged, and putting at the forefront the interests of clients in a manner consistent with the high duty owed to them. At the same time, we pride ourselves on being professional, realistic and frank, yet friendly and approachable. Such principles have guided Central Chambers since it’s inception in early 1996. The National Resource Center on LGBT Aging is the country's first and only technical assistance resource center aimed at improving the quality of services and supports offered to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults. Established in 2010 through a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging provides training, technical assistance and educational resources to aging providers, LGBT organizations and LGBT older adults. The center is led by Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) in collaboration with 18 leading organizations from around the country.
